Spending Monday With My Friend

It’s Monday and we have a full week ahead of us…

There are appointments scratched in on the

calendar, school work to be done, a house to be cleaned and

4 little people telling me how hungry they are.

Aren’t Mondays your favorite! *note the sarcasm…

But on this “Marvelous Monday”, I decided to start the day with my Dearest Friend!

In my “let’s get this done” kind of thinking, it was the backward

thing to do…

I normally feel like everything needs to be done

before spending time with friends

or else I haven’t been a good wife and mother.

But today was different and I urge each of you to start your day with

this Friend as well. I can promise you that you won’t regret it!

What is a friend??

I looked up the definition on “Google” and it says this:

“a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection.”

I’ll tell ya friends…

No One knows you like Jesus does and No One has more affection for you than Him!

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee..”

(Jeremiah 1)

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”

(John 15)

With all the responsibilities, chores and

things to get done, sometimes we forget to make time and sometimes

we intend to and the day

just gets away from us but don’t let today be that way.

Take some time and spend it with

the very Best Friend your soul will ever know!

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
